Our Story

In 2020, Zunian Luo, then a 15 year old Sophomore at Weston High School in Weston, MA, came across an unsettling statistic while watching YouTube: nearly 40% of Americans have less than $400 in the bank for emergency expenses. One of the most critical causes, he found, was the unmet need for economic and financial education in high schools. He began small by reforming his school’s defunct Stock Market Club with a high-profile speaker series, and, within 7 months during the height of the pandemic, grew the club’s membership to nearly 1/5 of the student body.
In late 2021, drawing inspiration from groundbreaking scaling research by Prof. John List, Zunian recognized that the era of videoconferencing brought on by the pandemic presented an opportunity to spread the gift of economic and financial education beyond the walls of his high school. And so the Weston Talks Distinguished Speaker Series was born. Whether you are looking to dip your intellectual toes into the universe of economics and investing for the first time, or already have extensive experience, we encourage you to join a growing global network of members in tuning in to our talks given by path-breaking leaders.
